Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) is different unlike other water utilities in the region, because it achieved service efficiency, greater water productivity, increased consumer base by transforming the decrepit and
war-torn water supply system with missing water and water customers, into a model public sector water utility that provided drinking water round the clock to all the one million inhabitants of Phnom Penh with an efficient and effective pro-poor governance.
Nanjing, a typical city of lacking quality drinking water despite water resources, has turned into a “Water-saving oriented City” by improving the efficiency in using water resources; relieving the pressure and lowering investments in water supply; decreasing the wastewater discharges and thus enjoying the economical and ecological benefits.
