Implementation of pilot demonstration projects;

Strengthening of regional, country and city-level good urban WATSAN governance and capacities for integrated water and sanitation development and management;

Promoting water quality, sanitation and hygiene education and create a new ethic among, children, community and local authorities;

Public awareness campaigns, Media Advisory and Gender Mainstreaming;

Benchmarking of utility performance and monitoring progress towards MDG goals in water and sanitation.

Identifying and developing pilot and fast-track investment projects, consistent with the ADB’s country strategies and programmes.

Implementing projects with focus on mobilization of financial resources and provision of loans to the participating countries;

Measures to ensure continuity of WATSAN sector reforms based on transparent policies and regulations, capacity-building and institutional strengthening with particular attention to operations, management and sustainability of water supply and sanitation services;

Involving civil society, private sector, NGOs from the level of planning till implementation
