Gender Mainstreaming and Empowerment
  Gender Mainstreaming Strategy for Equity and Sustainability, India

A Gender Mainstreaming Strategy (GMS) and Action Plan was developed for four cities of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, India under the WAC Programme, UN-HABITAT in collaboration with a local NGO, which envisages faster, equitable and sustainable achievement of the MDG targets and 100 per cent coverage for both women and men particularly those from socially excluded and marginalized with adequate water and sanitation services in the project cities by 2009.

  Initiative of One and Relief for All: Women’s Leadership, Pakistan
The project is a unique model of women empowerment in bringing out adequate water supply services through community management, and is self-reliant and sustainable with the dedicated effort of a women’s community-based approach with dynamic leadership.
